Question what we ‘know’.

I’ve got an RSS feed hooked up where I get several daily quotes sent to me. This one came today and I think its quite eloquent

“In all affairs it’s a healthy thing now and then to hang a question mark on the things you have long taken for granted.” ~ Bertrand Russell

Things change and as time progresses its a good thing to reestablish the correct place for things we believe to be true and untrue. Remember that the idea once prevailed that Earth was the center of the universe (1) and that the sun and moon were gods(2). Remember that it was once thought that the atom was an indivisible component of matter (3).

  1. Paul Marden says:

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. One can obtain a fascinating perspective by taking a step back from the narrow vantage-point of our humanity.
